If you have not seen “CRITERIA FOR USING IMAGE ANALYSIS TO DETECT LIFE FORMS IN PLANETARY IMAGERY (CICPLFI_2013_5)” Observation #01 Part 1 & 2 OF 4 CICPLFI -1 Unusual Appearance or Morphology that is Biological and/or Botanical In Nature please view those PPT before watching this one. They can be found here:
This sizeable presentation is Part 3 of Observation #1 intended to help to satisfy criterion CICPLFI-1 Unusual Appearance or Morphology that is Biological and/or Botanical In Nature and is made up of observations.
In this presentation and attempt is made to demonstrate that cMaLF and their AM/EM exist in a range of sizes – those associated with small rocks, those associated with small pebbles and by implication those associated with sand grains (or are soil biota). In addition it seeks to demonstrate that AM/EM may have an observable effect on their environment (observed clear areas of segregation in dense distributions of small pebbles). Finally, it is demonstrated that AM/EM can be observed consistently in all types of imagery from Curiosity(MastCam,NavCam,HazCam,ChemCam,MARDI & MAHLI) suggesting that AM/EM are not an imaging anomaly.
This is such an important first observation that it is examined and supported with imagery and detailed analysis at length.
It is impossible to separate the other criteria from consideration during analysis. Therefore, the presentation looks at how to use image analysis to confirm observations of cMaLF using all of the criteria suggested in “CRITERIA FOR USING IMAGE ANALYSIS TO DETECT LIFE FORMS IN PLANETARY IMAGERY (CICPLFI_2013_5)“.
These videos are preliminary only and a long way from being ready for general publication. They are also meant to be viewed in conjunction with the Blog Posts.
The imagery in these PPTs is NASA’s and so strictly speaking cannot be shared to monetised sites. Other images are copyright and cannot be used on monetised sites.
By all means share a link to the videos, but please don’t download and post these videos on your site as your own work or mine. It will be traced to this site and it may shut it down before I can finish sharing 5 years worth of observations.
GENERAL – The PowerPoint Videos published on this Blog:
- Are MP4 Format
- Are usually quite long 30 mins ~1 Hour – The video may take a few minutes to load depending on your speed of connection and so on. Please be patient.
- Have no Audio or Commentary – Commentary would slow down these lengthy presentations too much! Even I would not want to listen to myself droning on about slides that already say it all in text for 40 minutes or so – You will have peace and quiet to contemplate the PPT content or some music of your choice rather than having to endure mine…that torture I would not inflict on others ever.
- Coffee is advised…and a biscuit if you have been good today 🙂
